The reason I like AVAC® is that it's not just a gym; after a workout you can sit and be in good company. The good condition of the machines, the amenities like towel service, the overall cleanliness of the gym as well as the friendly staff keep me coming back.
Tennis at AVAC® is my "fountain of youth". I discovered at a young age that tennis players stayed young, healthy, and vibrant. I love knowing my daughter can enjoy tennis at AVAC® and play in a fun and safe environment!

I came to AVAC® from a small exercise facility with a very small daycare. At first I was a bit skeptical about a big daycare room and how my children would adapt and personally be attended to. However, I quickly came to realize the staff is always adequate, always attentive and always professional. Not to mention every single little toy is sanitized on a regularly scheduled basis as well as the carpets being cleaned regularly. There is always plenty to do and crafts to be made. I use the facility six days a week and couldn't be happier nor could my children. They'd go there twice a day if they could... and sometimes do. And don't even get me started on the date night daycare offered on occasion. Much better deal than a babysitter and my kids look forward to it for months! Well done AVAC®.

My son Sean continues to be afraid of swimming in the deep end. I informed [Swim Teacher] Amber and she keeps taking him to the deep end to practice and encourage. He does great with her. I love the individual feedback and attention we always get at the AVAC® Swim School. Thank you!

I love coming to AVAC®! It is my fun exercise time and I get to play tennis with my friends. Tennis is my workout and mental break time. I love tennis!

I started BOSU classes as a part of my rehab after back surgery. My goal was to train consistently for 1 month; that was 5 years ago. BOSU has helped me keep my back problems in control with a strong core and my surgeon is very impressed. As a senior I truly believe BOSU helps with not only my everyday balance but my golf game has improved as well. There is little that motivates me to get up at 6 am but the BOSU class does. Those days I attend class are my most productive days. Jackie always encourages me. I can't believe the things I can now do on the BOSU ball. Class is never the same way twice and NEVER BORING.

My daughter Kaitlin had her 7th birthday party outdoors at AVAC® today. Everything went really well. I just wanted to take a moment to say Madison was wonderful. She was friendly, attentive and professional. She constantly went around asking if anyone needed drinks, took care of distributing the pizza and cutting the cake and did the cleanup...all by herself and with a smile! She impressed not only me, but all of my guests. So many of my friends commented on the superb service she provided and contrasted that with other parties they've attended elsewhere for their kids. Thanks for a great party!

When I first came to Almaden Valley Athletic Club® as a guest participating in Mary Ann Smith's "Spring Chickens" class, I started to feel more energy. After using my guest passes as a guest, I joined AVAC® and continued in Mary Ann's classes: "Just Enough", "Spring Chickens", Pilates and Tai Chi. As a result, I have lost seven pounds, have SO much more energy and feel great! (The endorphins are bouncing.) Mary Ann's gentle and encouraging style has kept me on track and wanting to exercise. If I miss a class (beyond my control), I feel the difference. Thank you Mary Ann for helping me to find again my fun and energetic self that has been missing for the past two plus years!

At 64 I can say that I hate to exercise. However, when I began to feel depressed that my cute size 14 clothes were pushed to the back of my closet, I realized I had to do something and I couldn’t do it alone. AVAC® is the perfect place to start, even though being held accountable through measurement, weight, and customized training was a little intimidating. My daughter and I decided to share our trainer, Marcy. Marcy’s title says trainer but she is so much more. She combines great people sense with a vast knowledge of different training techniques, not just the latest trend. She’s sensitive to my ailments, mixes up the exercise equipment and routines, and is always encouraging, beaming from the inside out when I complete a goal. At the beginning of this life-changing experience I weighed 165, measured like a block, 40X40X40 and could not stand on one leg without tipping over. Today I still can’t wear my size 14 clothes, because they are too big. I wear size 8 jeans, don’t look like a block, and am down to 138.9 pounds. Yes the .9 keeps me on my toes, as my final goal is 130 pounds, my wedding day and pre-babies weight. My balance is better, I have a new-found respect for muscles, and core training is a part of my daily routine. I still don’t like to exercise but I do like to train with Marcy, who I trust to tailor my workout to what works for me. Thank you Marcy, I could not have done this without you.
