We believe in celebrating each child’s success. Accomplishment is always rewarded. As the child masters one set of skills, we begin teaching the next group of skills. For learning consistency, the child has a consistent teacher for their weekly lessons, enabling the student to continue to progress. The AVAC Method emphasizes a balance between love and discipline, which develops self-esteem and social aptitude, as well as swimming skills.
We train all of our teachers in the proprietary AVAC Method. Each new teacher undergoes approximately 50 hours of training, including introduction to our programs and philosophies, 30 plus hours of shadowing and team teaching with experienced teachers, as well as lesson planning and emergency action plan procedures. All of this is followed by weekly meetings with a peer mentor.
Leading Our Team
Our Deck Supervisors are all experienced teachers capable of teaching all class levels, serve as mentors to the new teachers, and are Red Cross-certified Lifeguards with knowledge of CPR, AED, and First Aid. They are selected based on their quality of teaching, level of experience, and leadership capabilities..
