Weight Lifting 101

A program designed for juniors ages 13-17 years old who have a desire to learn the foundational skills of lifting & program design. Focuses on the major lifts; squat, deadlift, bench press & free weight exercises to build proper technique. Held on court 6.

Program Focus:
• The fundamentals of weight training
• Perfect compound movements
• Emphasis on technique and form
• How to build your own workouts
• Program design
• Build confidence around the gym

Weekly focus:
Week 1 • Warm Up: Full body warm up movements that will prime the body for free weight exercises
Week 2 • Squat foundation
Week 3 • Bench foundation
Week 4 • Deadlift foundation
Week 5 • Leg exercises: Learning how to apply concepts of the squat into other leg exercises
Week 6 • Chest exercises: Learning how to apply concepts of the bench press into other chest exercises
Week 7 • Back exercises: Learning how to apply concepts of the deadlift into other back exercises
Week 8 • Full leg workout: Going through all that we learned (Students will workout in pairs)
Week 9 • Full chest workout: Going through all that we learned (Students will workout in pairs)
Week 10 • Full back workout: Going through all that we learned (Students will workout in pairs)

10-week program • Starting February 1
Wednesdays 4 - 5 pm OR Thursdays 4 - 5 pm
